Postpartum Depression

POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION

Postpartum depression is extremely common. It is symptomatic of pregnancy and the after effects of having a baby. It’s caused by the hormonal changes a woman goes through during that time frame. After seeing this piece and knowing the struggle a mother goes through when creating life, there is a deeper understanding for a woman's sacrifice.

ANOREXIA, ORTHOREXIA, & BULIMIA

This piece is a representation of looking at nutritionally valuable food, and the calculator trapped within your mind forces you to instead see the number of calories within each item. I hope this piece can give those who do not suffer from an ED the courage to be kind, be considerate, and be aware. I hope this piece can give those who do or have suffered in the past from an ED the feeling that they’re not so alone. People want to understand, want to help, and love you and your body for who you are and what it is.

POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER

“Some people don’t want you to touch them, because it feels like somebody else still is.”
We talk about PTSD affecting veterans, natural disaster survivors, and as time progresses the disease is commonly treated in sexual assault/abuse and domestic violence survivors. Every 98 seconds someone is sexually assaulted. Raising awareness for survivors and those battling PTSD is incredibly important within our society today. Our current president has bragged about assaulting women. Something must be done and something must change.
